Materials You Will Need:

  • A craft knife
  • A bit of acetate or stiff plastic
  • A printout of the stencil design (you can also draw/sketch on a piece of paper this if you want)
  • A cutting board (or a hard surface to cut the stencil out)
  • Tape
  • Step One: Find A Design!

Create your stencil design by either finding one online and printing it out or drawing one of your own. Attempt to stay with something simple since the surface area (a child’s face) is quite little and will probably move while you paint them!

Step Two: Keep Your Stencil In Place

Use a little tape to hold down the printout (or your sketch) of the stencil design to the piece of acetate across the edges. Make sure that the stencil design is really a sensible size for the child’s cheek.

Step Three: Cutting Out Your Stencil

Using a sharp craft knife, start carefully cutting out the stencil. Once the stencil is cut out, hold it in place with one hand on the child’s cheek, while using the other hand to paint in your design.

    Important Information: Don’t Forget!

Ensure that you always wash the stencil after use. Never use an unwashed stencil on someone It might cause skin irritations or allergic reactions.

And that’s all there is to it!
